U.S. employee benefits rules have turned into such a maze that the complexity is hurting use of flexible spending arrangements (FSAs), health savings accounts (HSAs) and other personal benefits account programs.

Employees, meanwhile, are busy and tired. Employers, and employers’ plan enrollers and administrators, may have a hard time getting employees even to open benefits enrollment emails, let alone pay attention at a meeting for more than 15 minutes.

DataPath — a benefits administration software firm based in Little Rock, Arkansas —  has come up with a new tool for getting employees to pay attention: Captain Contributor.

Captain Contributor is a caped crusader who happens to have encyclopedic knowledge of employee benefits rules and programs.
